Conditions for Telehealth Consultations

  • We charge a fee for telehealth services. Although you have left your card details on the Hot Doc site, (which is a safe and secure site) you will not be charged until after the doctor has spoken to you. A transaction fee applies. Mon-Friday upfront fee is $76.20 (plus transaction fee) and $86.20 on Saturday. Consults about Covid (where antivirals are prescribed) and Mental Health Care Plan Reviews a $135 fee applies as these consults are complex. However your gap payment always remains the same, $35 Mon- Fri and $45 on Saturday.
  • We will transmit the service to Medicare on your behalf. You then will receive a rebate to your nominated bank account.
  • HotDoc will hold a fee for a standard consult. However if your consult is long or complex we reserve the right to charge you a higher fee. The out of pocket gap fee will remain the same.
  • We do not bulk bill telehealth consults.
  • In order to receive a Medicare rebate you must have been seen face to face with one of our doctors in the last 12 months. If you haven't, a non-rebatable fee applies.
  • New patients need to be registered at the practice before having a phone consult.
  • Patients without a Medicare card will be charged the same fee but will not receive a Medicare rebate.
  • We acknowledge that you have booked an appointment time, however you could receive a call ANYTIME between 8.30 am to 5.30 pm .
  • If you would like to request a particular doctor to call you, please enter their name in “reason for your appointment.” If that doctor isn’t available, another doctor will call you.
  • All patients make an appointment for a Telehealth consult under Telehealth Dr 1.
  • The phone call will come from a private number, so make sure you pick up. Drs will not attempt to call you multiple times.
  • Scripts can be sent to your phone. Any other correspondence will be sent via email by the end of the day.
  • Due to COVID demands, over the phone consults MUST be kept brief.
  • To maintain a COVID-safe environment, in-clinic patients are prioritised before phone consults.

Patients are also encouraged to continue attending the medical centre for medical conditions requiring physical assessment such as chest pain, abdominal pain, headache, physical injuries, joint pain, any mechanical pain, changing moles, rashes, wound assessment, and other.
